On Becoming the Internet Gardener
Notes on three years of writing every day and creating a beautiful pocket on the internet
Hi friends,
More than three years ago, I started my daily blog. 1219 days later, and I haven’t missed a day.
Over the years, I grew up on this blog. All 1219 posts and half a million words. These pages are a witness to my reflections and reckonings—in school, in career, in life.
I often get asked, “What keeps me going? What’s next?” I attempt to answer them in my essay, On Becoming the Internet Gardener.
Becoming The Internet Gardener symbolizes a necessary transformation, that in order to become the writer I want to be, I need to evolve and my work must evolve with it. As such, I’ve started a new Substack for the Internet Gardener. The themes and daily cadence of the blog will remain the same. But this is my metaphorical stake in the ground on what’s next for me as a writer.
This newsletter won’t be going away anytime soon. I’ll continue sharing longer-form pieces and personal updates here. It will continue to be the best way to keep in touch with me.
Whether you’ve been here from the beginning or recently, thanks for joining me on this journey :)
Much love,
James
